In the summertime, burgers are one of my go-to dinners. They’re a quick camping meal that never disappoints. With only 6 ingredients, these burgers are a crowd pleaser and ready in about 20 minutes!
Slice the onions into rounds that are about 1/2 an inch thick. Grill them over the fire for a few minutes on each side until they develop some color and the onions soften. Use a spatula to easily flip the onions and prevent them from falling through the grill. Set the onions aside on a plate when they’re done.
Next, form the burgers. Grill them for about 4-6 minutes on each side depending on how well done you like your burgers.
Add the sliced Gruyere cheese to the burgers during the last few minutes of cooking. Once the burgers are cooked, remove them from the grill.
Place each burger on a hamburger bun. Top with a dollop of BBQ sauce, a LOT of blue cheese crumbles, and a few grilled onions. Serve immediately!
