Peach Grilled Cheese Ingredients:
Fresh Peaches – Peaches in a grilled cheese, you ask? Stick with me. It’s delicious. In case you’re interested, this is how to pick a good peach.
Sourdough Bread – While you can use whatever bread you want, I really love sourdough bread in this recipe.
Sharp White Cheddar Cheese – Go for the sharp or extra sharp cheddar cheese in this recipe for the best flavor.
Prosciutto – This adds the perfect saltiness. Try to find prosciutto that has been sliced extremely thin for the best results. I usually buy the Creminelli brand.
Fresh Basil – Fresh basil adds so much flavor. It really brightens up this grilled cheese and goes so well with the fresh peaches.
Butter – No grilled cheese is complete without the crispy, buttery bread on the outside. You can use salted or unsalted butter for this grilled cheese.

Tips for Cooking Grilled Cheese While Camping:
- Cook this grilled cheese low and slow! This will give the cheese on the inside time to melt without burning the buttery bread on the outside.
- Have everything ready to assemble before you start. Slice the cheese, peaches, and basil before you start cooking to make things easier.
- Pre-heat your cast iron skillet for at least a few minutes before you begin.
