When it comes to easy camping food ideas, there are a few ways you can go. You can cook a lot of meals with a simple propane camp stove and a cast iron pan setup. But for larger groups, these flat top grill recipes can be a great option.
I have a Blackstone Griddle, but these camping meal ideas work on any flat griddle. Many will even work in a cast iron pan over a propane stove if you’re cooking on a smaller scale.

An Important Note on the Recipes Below:
- These meals are designed to be SUPER EASY. Long ingredient lists and complicated steps just won’t cut it here!
- Some of the camping meal ideas below have links to full recipes. But if there’s no specific recipe link, I’ve listed the ingredients and directions. The amounts are not specific, and you can throw everything together for a quick camping meal.
Blackstone Camping Meals for Breakfast

1. Breakfast Burritos
I love a loaded breakfast burrito before a big adventure-filled day outdoors. When we started dating, my husband’s signature meal was a breakfast burrito he made for me. Cook the burritos low and slow over the griddle for a crispy outside and melted cheese on the inside. So good!

2. Sausage and Egg Breakfast Sandwiches
To keep this easy, cook the breakfast sausage patties ahead of time at home and store them in the cooler. Then reheat them on the Blackstone.
To make this even easier, buy pre-cooked chicken breakfast sausages instead. I like the Amylu brand from Costco. These are perfect for a large group. Fry up some eggs, toast English muffins and you’re good to go!
3. French Toast
French toast is great for the griddle. Keep it simple with good-quality bread, eggs, milk, and cinnamon. I omit the vanilla extract when I’m camping because I don’t want to bother packing that for one recipe. Top with fresh berries and maple syrup for the perfect sweet camping breakfast!

4. Breakfast Tacos
Heat up small corn or flour tortillas right on the griddle. Cook scrambled eggs or fried eggs with some peppers and onions and place on top of the tortillas. Serve with cheese, avocado, and fresh salsa!
Ingredients:
- small corn or flour tortillas
- eggs
- sliced bell peppers
- sliced onions
- shredded cheddar cheese
- avocado
- salsa, for serving
- butter or oil, for cooking eggs

5. Pancakes
Pancakes are one of the most classic blackstone meals for camping. They are great for a large group because the flat cooktop has plenty of room to make lots of pancakes at once. For a heartier camping breakfast, use a protein pancake mix like Kodiak Cakes.
Ingredients:
- your favorite pancake mix
- butter
- water or milk for pancake mix
- maple syrup
- berries or bananas for topping, optional

6. Breakfast Quesadillas
Scramble up some eggs, cook bacon or chicken sausage, and assemble it in a tortilla with some cheese. Serve with hot sauce and sour cream for an easy camping breakfast. Quesadillas are one of my favorite kid friendly blackstone recipes!
Ingredients:
- flour tortillas
- shredded cheddar cheese
- scrambled eggs
- cooked breakfast sausage, optional

7. Crispy Hashbrowns and Eggs
Hashbrowns cook up so well on the griddle. I buy the pre-cut hashbrowns in the fridge section at the grocery store. Cook them in a little butter or ghee on the griddle until they get nice and crispy.
Serve them with a side of scrambled or fried eggs and even some breakfast sausage for a boost in protein. For an even easier option, spread butter on slices of bread and “toast” them on the griddle.
Ingredients:
- store-bought ready-to-cook hashbrowns
- eggs, for scrambling or frying
- breakfast sausage or bacon
Dinner or Lunch Blackstone Camping Food Ideas

8. Beef Fried Rice
This is definitely one of my favorite camping blackstone recipes. Trust me, once you try this, it will be a regular on your camping meal plan. I make mine with beef, but if you want a vegetarian camping dinner, you can leave it out.

9. Chicken Quesadillas
As I mentioned above, quesadillas are perfect for the Blackstone griddle! If I’m making quesadillas for a camping lunch or dinner, I like to add cooked chicken, peppers, and onions. You can buy a rotisserie chicken and cut it up. Or, you can cook chicken on the griddle before making the quesadillas. Rotisserie chicken is the easiest and one of my camping meal hacks! I use it all the time.
Ingredients:
- cooked chicken, I typically use rotisserie chicken
- flour tortillas
- shredded cheddar cheese
- peppers and onions, optional (cook them on the griddle first)
- oil or butter for cooking peppers and onions
- salsa, for topping
- sour cream, for topping
- fresh chopped cilantro, for topping

10. Smash Burgers
Another classic blackstone meal for camping! Smash burgers are so much fun to make. They cook fast and turn out thin and crispy. Top them with cheese or any toppings you like! If you want some variety, try the burger ideas below.
Burger Recipes to Try on the Blackstone:

11. Grilled Cheese
Much like quesadillas, grilled cheese cooks so well on the blackstone griddle! And you can make a few at a time, which is perfect for bigger groups. This is another kid friendly blackstone meal idea.
Ingredients:
- bread
- butter
- cheddar cheese

12. Fajitas
Fajitas are a camping meal I return to over and over. Obsessed! These are loaded with protein and flavor. Great for a large group!

13. Tacos
There are so many taco variations you can try on the black stone griddle. I usually make simple ground beef tacos. But you can also try fish tacos or the breakfast tacos I mentioned above!

14. Chicken or Beef Stir-fry
To simplify this camping dinner, use rotisserie chicken or cook your chicken at home first. Once your chicken is cooked, set it aside and add your veggies on the griddle. Cook until tender, then add the chicken and pre-cooked rice packets. Mix it all together. Drizzle your favorite stir-fry sauce on top. Easy and so delicious!
Ingredients:
- pre-cooked rice packets
- broccolli
- onion
- bell pepper
- zucchini
- chicken or ground beef
- stir-fry sauce

15. Chicken Caesar Salad or Wraps
If you want healthy blackstone griddle recipes, this is one of my favorites. It’s great for lunch or dinner. For an easy blackstone lunch idea, I typically make this into a wrap.
For dinners, I usually make the salad version. Either way, it’s a great camping meal for when it’s hot outside and you want something light and fresh.

16. Beef and Broccoli with Rice and Japanese BBQ Sauce
Japanese BBQ sauce is such an easy way to boost a basic meal. I buy a big bottle of it at Costco! All you need to do for this camping dinner is cook some beef and broccoli over the griddle. Warm a pre-cooked packet of rice and drizzle it all with the BBQ sauce. So good and high in protein!
Ingredients:
- pre-cooked rice packets
- ground beef
- broccoli
- Japanese BBQ sauce
- butter or oil to prevent sticking on the griddle

17. Chicken Sausage with Peppers and Onions
For this idea, make sure to use fully cooked chicken sausages. They’re great for camping griddle meals because you won’t have to handle raw meat at camp.
I cook the sausages with peppers and onions. Then, I serve them in buns with mustard and sauerkraut. You can also slice them and serve over rice. Either way, it’s easy!
Ingredients:
- cooked chicken sausages
- sliced bell peppers
- sliced onions
- hot dog buns
- mustard, for serving
- sauerkraut, for serving
